Base - SQLite Editor App Reviews

This is the best sqlite schema and data editor for OS X! I like the attention to detail. My only issue at the moment is that I need the embedded SQLite updated to 3.8.2 so I can use the new “WITHOUT ROWID” option. 3.8.1 will not open databases with that feature enabled. It would also be nice if there was a way to install a plugin containing a custom build of SQLite so that user built extensions (virtual tables or custom functions) will work properly in Base. That may be the next issue I run in to. Otherwise this is a great product!

Kind of a big oversight. Not really useful anymore.

Everytime I edit data in tables, it is never saved back to the actual DB. It appears to be saved somewhere as the next time I start the app the editted data is still visible. However when openning the DB from other apps the data is unchanged?

Very solid SQLite app. Probably the best in the Mac App Store, but the interface is a little unituitive and feels old.

I expected this would be a more refined, proper Mac version of SQLiteStudio or the SQLite Manager add-on for Firefox. I am quite disappointed - this tool is completely featureless; its basically just a GUI frontend to the built-in CLI tool. Adding rows is unintuitive (large blank window?), and documentation is very minimal as well. Too much money for what it offers, and I regret my purchase.

I use base all the time for my iOS Core Data projects. It is an awesome SQLite editor. It makes working with SQLite a joy. This is seriously the best SQLite editor out there. It just works :)

I’ve been using Base since 5/2012 v2.3 It’s been a very handy tool allowing me to quickly test and create new schema. I’ve had no troubles with stability. It’s also nice that the developers care enough to continue to maintain their product making fairly regular maintenance releases.

This is the quick and easy sqlite viewer I always wanted. I’ve been using it since 2012. Thanks for a great app!

Needed a tool to do a job, got this tool, worked great, no hassle, no lost time. Really nice intellisense.
